DAY 1:
Nairobi (1,600m/ 5249ft) – Nanyuki (2,235m / 7,332ft)
Distance 290km, driving time 3hrs
Leave Nairobi to Nanyuki in time for lunch. Afternoon is spent in Nanyuki acclimatizing. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Nanyuki.
DAY 2:
Nanyuki (2,335m / 7,332ft) – Old Moses (3,300m / 10,826ft)
Distance 9km, hiking time 4-5hrs
After breakfast, drive to the Sirimon park gate and begin your 5 hour hike to Old Moses Hut (3,300m) for meals and overnight at the hut.
DAY 3:
Old Moses (3,300m /10,826ft) – Shipton Hut (4,200m / 13,779ft)
Distance; 14km , hiking timt 6-7hrs, 900m ascent
After breakfast, walk from Old Moses Hut via Mackinder’s Valley to Shipton Hut (4,200m). Dinner and overnight at the camp.
DAY 4:
Shipton Hut (4,200m / 13,779ft) – Point Lenana (4,985m / 16,354ft) – Mintos Hut (4,250m / 13,943ft)
Distance: 24km, hiking time 11-12hrs
Wake up very early in the morning around 2:30 hrs. ready to hike to Point Lenana (4,985m). in a very clear day, we should be able to see Mount Kilimanjaro in the South, Mount Elgon on the West and Indian Ocean to the east After Point Lenana, descend to Mintos Hut (4,250m) for brunch then proceed to Road Head for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5:
Mintos Hut (4,250m/13,943ft) – Road head – Chogoria – Nyeri
Distance: 17km, hiking time Bandas (2,900m) 3hrs, 10km walk, 950m descent
After breakfast, an early walk will take us to road head then Chogoria gate to Nyeri for lunch, dinner and splendid celebration ready for the next destination.
DAY 6:
Nyeri – Lake Nakuru National Park
Distance: Nyeri – Nakuru 185km
We will leave Nyeri in the morning drive to Thomson Falls, after some pictures with local then you will leave for Lake Nakuru lodge or equivalent for hot lunch, after short rest you will continue with National Park for game viewing in the park which is renowned for its large variety of world famous birds (Flamingoes) and Rhinoceros. It’s impala, buffalo and gazelle in the surrounding gardens. Dinner and overnight Nakuru lodge/equivalent.
DAY 7:
Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara National reserve
Distance: Nakuru – Masai Mara 230km
After breakfast leave the lodge and depart for Maasai Mara with picnic lunch en-route.
This is Kenya’s premier safari destination and the world’s famous game reserve due to the annual wildebeest’s migration. Situated in the southwest of Kenya in the Rift Valley bordering with Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, Dinner and overnight at Maasai Mara Sopa lodge.
DAY 8:
Full day game drive in Masai Mara National reserve
SIZE: Consist of 1,510 sq. km (589 sq. miles)
It is made up of three group ranches i.e. the Mara Triangle, Musiara and Sekenani, all under the control of the local country councils. Often described as the greatest of nature’s stages, the Maasai Mara, with its huge dramatic skies, is the most popular of all Kenya’s game parks. The landscape which is mostly savanna, hosts approximately 22 families of lions and 3000 elephants. This park is famous for herds of elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest and zebras that roam its plains.
The Mara River is one of the best places to observe hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at Masai Mara Sopa lodge.
DAY 9:
Masai Mara – Nairobi
After breakfast, depart for Nairobi, enjoy a picnic lunch en-route and arrive in Nairobi late afternoon depend on your flight details.
